Dieters on the HCG diet are injected with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HGC), a hormone which occurs naturally in the human body during pregnancy. The hormone hasn’t been shown to have any real impact on weight loss and individuals on the diet must also stick to a 500-calorie daily food intake (which is way more likely to be the reason for any loss of weight loss).

Victoria Beckham: The Alkaline Diet
Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is a big fan of the alkaline diet which is a meal plan aimed at keeping your body’s pH between 7.35 and 7.45. In order to be alkaline-friendly, participating dieters need to follow an 80/20 rule of more vegetables and less grains and proteins.
