Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

Dr. Alba Rivera-Diaz is a highly competent and compassionate pulmonary and critical care medicine physician serving the Orlando community. She is part of the Florida Lung, Asthma & Sleep Specialists medical group that has been serving Central Florida for over a decade. Dr. Rivera-Diaz focuses her practice on establishing long-term relationships with her patients, providing quality and compassionate care through up-to-date, evidence-based medicine and empathy.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Rivera-Diaz earned her medical degree from Iberoamerican University, School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic. She completed her advanced medical training in Puerto Rico, including an internal medicine residency at Damas Hospital and a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at VA Caribbean Healthcare System. During her training, she was recognized as Resident of the Year. She received the Scholarly Activity and Professionalism awards during her fellowship. She also trained in Advanced Diagnostic Bronchoscopy at Harvard-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Section of Interventional Pulmonology, Boston, Massachusetts. Currently, she is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Rivera-Diaz’s practice is mainly focused on asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, and other chronic pulmonary diseases, as well as advanced diagnostic bronchoscopic procedures. She believes in educating her patients to help them feel empowered to make better decisions for their health.

Outside of work, Dr. Rivera-Diaz enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Her commitment and passion for medicine make her an exceptional physician.
