Dr. Patel was born in Jackson, Tennessee and was raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  She started wearing her first pair glasses at the age of 8 and since then has been fascinated in the world of Optometry. She has always been amazed at how the delicate structure of the eyes allows exploration of the world and at the same time gives knowledge systemically into our internal health. Dr.Patel takes great pride in serving her patients and is truly passionate about improving their eye health and ensuring that they receive the highest level of care.

Dr.Patel performs comprehensive eye exams and takes particular interest in treating and managing ocular diseases such as diabetic eye disease, dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, and other pathologies.  At Uptown Eyecare, she utilizes the latest technology created by Visionary Optics sMap3D to map out a customized scleral contact lens for difficult corneal fittings for patients with post-surgical complications, dry eye disease, and Keratoconus. Her passion in the field of eye care is evident in the time she spends with her patients caring for all of their visual needs while educating them in the process.

She also enjoys giving back to the community and has participated in One Sight missions in Ecuador and performs vision screenings at her church.  Family time is very important to Dr. Patel. She enjoys time with her two daughters and her loving husband as well as reading, cooking, and traveling.
