Dr. McCullum Mejia is originally from New Albany, Indiana, a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from medical school at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky in 2016 where she served as a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Honors fraternity. She completed Internal Medicine residency at The University of Kentucky at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2019 and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In June 2021, she completed a University of South Florida Rheumatology fellowship in Hudson, Florida.

Dr. McCullum opened Lakeshore Rheumatology in 2021, located in Winter Garden, Florida. She enjoys getting to know her patients to provide consultative care and recommendations for shared medical decision making in the treatment of Rheumatologic autoimmune conditions. Some of the diseases she is passionate about treating are: rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, uveitis, polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, myositis, systemic sclerosis, osteoarthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, Sjogren syndrome, gout, pseudogout, and vasculitis. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Florida Society of Rheumatology, American Women in Rheumatology, and Florida Osteopathic Medical Society. She is affiliated with Orlando Health and Advent Health hospitals.

Dr. McCullum is also a Pharmacist. She graduated from the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2009. She worked as a community Pharmacist and taught an after-school pre-pharmacy course to high school students in the Louisville, Kentucky area from 2009 until 2012. After which, she pursued a career in medicine.

Dr. McCullum enjoys educating the next generation of healthcare workers and serves a Preceptor for the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Student Pharmacists spend time with her in the office, to bridge the gap and establish a continuity of care between the fields of pharmacy and medicine. She is also a Founding Faculty Member and Clinical Assistant Professor for the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. McCullum is married to Dr. Juan Carlos Mejia Garces, M.D., an Internal Medicine Physician, who also has an essential role at Lakeshore Rheumatology. Dr. McCullum absolutely loves being a mom, spending time with her husband and two small children. Prior to becoming a mom, she enjoyed participating in pageants, some of her previous titles were Mrs. Indiana 2016 and Miss Kentucky Sweetheart 2014. She has also been commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel; an honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky.
