Advanced Kidney Care of Central Florida, PA was founded in 2010 by Dr Bao Huynh. Over the years the practice grew to 5 providers and made it a priority to stay up to date with medical knowledge and provide the latest evidence-based medicine, specializing in diseases of the kidney, hypertension, electrolytes, acid-base, urine, kidney stones, dialysis, and renal transplantation.
Dr. Huynh was born in Vietnam and fled the Communist regime to the United States with his family in 1981 as part of “The Boat People”. Growing up in Minnesota, Dr. Huynh started his college education at the University of Minnesota – College of Liberal Arts, Honor’s Division. Coming from a family of pharmacists, it was natural that he followed in the footsteps of his father and older sister, earning a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Pharmacy at their alma mater, the University of Minnesota, where he was elected to the prestigious Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society and graduated at the top of his class with the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude.
Dr. Huynh practiced as a clinical pharmacist at Methodist Hospital for a year before returning to medical school. He pursued his Medical Doctor degree from the University of North Dakota, graduating with the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor. He was selected into a highly competitive postgraduate residency training program in Internal Medicine at the world-renowned Washington University in St Louis, MO. During his residency training, he carried out clinical research in heart failure, published studies in peer-reviewed medical journals and developed clinical risk prediction models for heart failure. His appeal for physiology and the management of complex patients led him pursue a nephrology fellowship at the University of Florida, where he was selected to serve as Chief Fellow during his final year there.
