Dr. DeForrest is a board certified physician specializing in adult & pediatric eye care. The DeForrest Eye Center offers complete eye care for the entire family, including a full service optical showroom, contact lens fittings, Lasik evaluations, diabetic retinopathy management, and glaucoma treatment.
Dr. DeForrest attended the University of Florida and the New England College of Optometry, graduating with honors in 1990. She completed internships around the world, including Jerusalem, Israel; Boston, Massachusetts; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Atlanta, Georgia.
After graduating, Dr. DeForrest completed her residency, specializing in ocular disease and postoperative care, at the Magruder Eye Institute in Orlando where she established her home. She is married to Brian Fucile, a financial adviser with Edward Jones Investments. They share one daughter, Lena, who is a graduate of Lake Highland Preparatory School and Pepperdine University.
In 2007, Dr DeForrest opened a private practice in the Dr Phillips neighborhood, where she continues to practice full-time. Her proudest achievement is the loyalty she’s shared with her coworkers. She has 3 staff members with over 10 years of service and 3 more close behind. This continuity of care and family atmosphere is unmatched by any other medical practice in town.
In 2013, Dr DeForrest earned Diplomate status within the American Board of Optometry and obtained her DEA credentials.
Dr. DeForrest volunteers for Prevent Blindness Florida and Grace Medical Home.
Outside the office, you’ll find Dr DeForrest is a die-hard Yogi at Full Circle Yoga, Winter Park and immensely enjoys her “no-pressure-book-club” with her dearest friends.
