Brenda J. Newman, started her legal career over 36 years ago as a litigator representing banking institutions, trucking companies, hospitals, doctors and nursing homes while also representing plaintiffs and claimants in commercial, personal injury and construction in complex litigation matters. Brenda is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest legal and ethical rating from her peers. After over 30 years of litigation practice, Brenda transitioned her practice to mediations and arbitrations. Brenda Newman is a Florida Supreme Court certified Circuit Civil mediator, a certified Federal court mediator in the Middle and Southern districts of Florida, a certified appellate court mediator, a qualified arbitrator and a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
As the founder of Newman Law & Mediation, Brenda’s mission is to provide professional knowledge and skill in an effort to achieve a resolution for a wide variety of litigation and commercial matters in State and Federal Courts and on the Appellate level. Brenda believes the best mediators and arbitrators have a breadth of experience which comes with practical experience in various areas of civil litigation. Listening and understanding to each parties’ position is the key to working towards a mutual understanding and resolution. With over 3 decades of litigation and trial practice, Brenda dedicates her full-time efforts to helping others reach amicable resolutions to litigation and pre-suit matters. As a qualified arbitrator, Brenda works hard in an effort to reach a well-reasoned order for binding and non-binding arbitrations.
In addition to her Florida Bar membership, Brenda is a member of the U.S. District Court, Southern and Middle Districts, U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Outside of work, Brenda enjoys traveling and new adventures including experiencing local cuisines and wines. Brenda serves on several community boards, including Florida Poodle Rescue.
