Attorney

Attorney Colleen Tuohy Fleming’s passion in life is helping people achieve justice. Even before she became an attorney, Colleen knew she wanted to help people. After graduating from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts, she joined the AmeriCorps Water Watch Program. Colleen devoted herself to helping clean up Massachusetts’s waterways and ensuring that all Massachusetts citizens had clean water.

After working for AmeriCorps, Colleen was certain that she wanted to dedicate her life to serving her community, so she decided to go to law school. She relocated to Florida and earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida State University in 2008.  Upon graduation, Colleen moved to the Central Florida area. She joined Orlando’s Office of the Public Defender where she tried over 60 trials ranging from misdemeanors to capital felonies and defended indigent citizens against the government. She climbed the ranks at the Office of the Public Defender and was eventually promoted to a lead attorney. As a lead attorney, Colleen primarily handled serious felony cases where many of her clients faced life in prison.

After eight years serving as an Assistant Public Defender, Colleen’s passion for justice in the Central Florida community grew. She became an attorney for Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys in 2016. Colleen considers it an honor to fight for her clients against insurance companies. She takes tremendous pride in the individual attention she gives to each of her clients.

Colleen also enjoys spending time with her family — especially her ten-year-old daughter. She is an active member of various professional and volunteer organizations in the Central Florida community.
