The Glicken Law Firm
David Scott Glicken is a Florida native and a long-time resident of Orlando since 1970. David attended Bishop Moore High School and Florida State University. David obtained two [2] Bachelor Degrees (Political Science & Criminal Justice) during his four years at FSU and was very involved with many extra-curricular activities including President of his Fraternity (Phi Gamma Delta) and President of the FSU Graduating Class of 1979. Upon Graduation from Florida State, David attended Cumberland School of Law at Nationally-Ranked Samford University and graduated from law school in two [2] years, versus the normal three [3] years most people need to obtain a Juris Doctorate of Law Degree (J.D.).
In his 38th year of practicing law, David began his legal career in December, 1981, with the Office of the State Attorney, in the Criminal Intake Division. In 1982, Mr. Glicken appeared for the first time before the Florida Supreme Court and successfully argued a case appealed directly from the Circuit Court. Within six [6] months of starting at the State Attorney’s Office, David became the second Assistant State Attorney (and youngest) to be named as Legal Advisor to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (MBI), a multi-law enforcement agency responsible for prosecuting organized crime, wiretap, electronic surveillance, prostitution, adult entertainment, RICO, pornography, obscenity, and drug possession/trafficking cases.
In 1984, Mr. Glicken entered private practice and founded The Glicken Law Firm in 1986. Mr. Glicken’s thirty-eight [38] years of experience have enabled him to represent his clients in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner. Mr. Glicken has previously represented clients in State and Federal Courts, including juvenile matters, civil litigation, personal injury, felonies, misdemeanors, and family law matters. Mr. Glicken has been Lead Attorney in multiple First Degree Death Penalty Murder Cases and has obtained civil jury verdicts in excess of $1,000,000.00.
The Glicken Firm is dedicated to primarily handling cases concerning Family Law, including divorce, child custody and visitation disputes, child support, premarital agreements, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, modifications and other complex family law matters, as well as representing persons charged with criminal law offenses. As early as 1988, Mr. Glicken was able to obtain custody rights for fathers, almost unheard of at that time. Mr. Glicken has appeared before the Florida Supreme Court several times during his career, as well as the District Court’s of Appeals throughout the State of Florida.
David is a sole practitioner who personally handles every case and provides each client with the special care they deserve. Through the years, David’s clients have come to depend on his dedication, reliability, innovative strategies and continual professionalism. At The Glicken Law Firm, the family law client is not a case or a number, but an individual with distinct and personal needs which are attended to by the Staff and employees of the Firm. The initial consultation is at no cost to the prospective client for it allows the client to decide if they want The Glicken Law Firm to represent them in their legal matter.
Mr. Glicken has served on the Board of Directors for the Florida State University Torchbearers Board since 2005 and has served on the Board of Directors for the Diocese of Orlando Catholic Youth Sports League for ten [10] years. Mr. Glicken just completed his fourth consecutive term as President of the Catholic Youth Sports League for the Diocese of Orlando, an organization serving the needs of more than four thousand [4,000] Catholic Elementary School Student-Athletes each year. Believing in the philosophy of giving back to the community, Mr. Glicken volunteers more than 1,200 hours each year to non-profit organizations in Central Florida. David’s Brother, Douglas H. Glicken, is also an attorney in Orlando and is currently the President of the Central Florida Pet Alliance Organization. David lives in College Park with his wife, Lisa Vicars-Glicken, and their two [2] wonderful daughters, Delaney, a recent Graduate of Bishop Moore Catholic High School who will be attending Ringling College of Art and Design in the Fall, 2019, and Devon, an incoming Senior at Bishop Moore Catholic High School. Both daughters rowed for North Orlando Rowing Association (NORA) throughout their high school careers, and Devon is currently a Defending State Champion.
