Infectious Disease

In 2005, Dr. Shah relocated with her family to the Central Florida area where she continued to practice Infectious Disease.  In 2008, she opened Premier Infectious Disease Care in Winter Park.  Over the last year, two physicians have joined the practice.  Not only has Dr. Shah been affiliated with Winter Park Memorial Hospital for over 12 years, but with the help of the additional physicians, the practice has expanded to cover additional campuses of Florida Hospital (Orlando and East) and Oviedo Medical Center.  Over the course of these years she has been blessed to work with a wonderful office staff as well as the many nurses, physicians, and caregivers in the region.  Perhaps due to her collaborative temperament, she has been named Best/Top Doc in the Central Florida area for several consecutive years.

While growing up in India, she was tasked with taking care of her chronically ill grandmother. This in turn drove her to excel academically and pursue an education in medicine.  She emigrated to the United States in 1994 where she continued her training.  After completing her residency at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey, she joined the Infectious Disease fellowship program at University Hospital (UMDNJ) in Newark, NJ.  Training at a large urban Level I trauma center reinforced her love for medicine as well as understanding that you treat patients not just the illness or disease.

Dr. Shah recently attended her son’s graduation while her daughter moves up to the eighth grade.  In her spare time, she enjoys planning surprise parties, Bollywood dancing, and shopping.
