Uptown Eyecare at Hunters Creek

Dr. Eunice Pyon is a Board Certified Optometrist who is passionate about improving the quality of vision and maintaining healthy eyes. Born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar with a degree in Biology. She then moved to Philadelphia to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She completed externships at the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, FL, two family practices in Virginia, and trained under a team of world-renowned eye specialists at Virginia Eye Consultants. She now proudly serves the growing population of Central Florida at Uptown Eyecare.

Dr. Pyon enjoys practicing all aspects of optometry on patients of all ages, including comprehensive eye examinations, treatment and management of ocular disease, and co-management with specialists. She also strongly believes in keeping up with the latest technological advances to provide the best care for her patients. Uptown Eyecare is one of the few practices in Florida that offers scleral fittings utilizing the sMap3D, which maps out the front surface of the eye to provide a unique, customized lens for the patient. This is especially helpful in improving the quality of vision for irregular corneas, such as those with post-surgical complications, keratoconus, and dry eye disease.

Dr. Pyon is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa. Before beginning her career in Optometry, she participated in various mission trips within the US as well as to Guatemala. After graduating Optometry school, she was able to incorporate her skills by performing vision services in Ecuador, providing eyeglasses and medical exams to those unable to easily access proper healthcare. She looks forward to participating in many more trips in the future.

Outside of her time in the office, Dr. Pyon is very involved in church. She also loves to travel and explore different foods and cultures. On any given day, she enjoys watching movies and doing various outdoor activities with her husband, as well as playing the guitar.
