Dr. Jeffrey Goorland, MD, MS, is a distinguished double board-certified physician specializing in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. He completed a rigorous five-year combined residency at Ochsner-LSU Medical Center, where he served as Head Resident Instructor during his final year. His journey began with an initial internship in Internal Medicine at NY Methodist/Cornell Presbyterian Hospital in Park Slope, NY, culminating in six years of training across three distinct specialties.
Dr. Goorland holds a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology from the University of Miami, where his thesis focused on coronary artery disease and its prevention. His practice encompasses a broad spectrum of patient demographics across critical care, acute care, and both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Goorland has demonstrated a passion for education and research. He has taught Health Science at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Nova Southeastern University and Florida International University. His dedication to advancing medical knowledge is reflected in his publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Goorland’s career spans diverse medical environments, including some of the busiest Level-1 trauma centers in the nation and rural facilities requiring 24-hour single coverage. This breadth of experience has honed his expertise and adaptability in emergency and hospital medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Goorland is an avid athlete and exercise enthusiast. He holds certifications as a rescue scuba diver, personal trainer, and tennis instructor, embodying his commitment to health and fitness in both his personal and professional life.
Dr. Goorland has recently joined the esteemed Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians group in Boston, marking an exciting new chapter in his accomplished career.
