Winter Garden Animal Hospital
Dr. Jennifer MacDonald was born and raised in Dundee, Scotland, before moving to Winter Garden with her family in 2010. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Leo University and graduated from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 after completing her clinical year at the University of Florida.
Throughout her veterinary career, Dr. MacDonald has had many unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Some of her most memorable moments include working with white rhinos in the South African bush, assisting in surgery on a Siberian tiger, and conducting research on leatherback turtles in Grenada, West Indies.
Dr. MacDonald is currently an associate veterinarian at Winter Garden Animal Hospital, where she works as a small animal general practitioner. Her special interests include internal medicine, anesthesia, pain management, and preventative care. She is Fear-Free Certified and always prioritizes each pet’s overall experience when visiting the clinic.
Dr. MacDonald’s journey in veterinary medicine began at Winter Garden Animal Hospital in 2016, where she worked as a veterinary technician before attending veterinary school. Now, she is thrilled to return to her “home” clinic as a veterinarian. Some of her most humbling and rewarding moments come from treating patients and working with clients she first met when she started in the field.
Outside the clinic, Dr. MacDonald loves music, singing, traveling, and spending time with family. She also enjoys hanging out with her own furry crew: Yogi Bear, Billie, and Angus Steak (dogs, pictured) and Ronald MacDonald and Quinty Squinty (cats).
Dr. MacDonald is honored to be recognized as one of Orlando’s Veterinarians of the Year so early in her career. She looks forward to continuing to serve the Winter Garden and Orlando communities by caring for beloved pets and their families for many years to come!
