She believes that this, along with her outreach ministry, is her Inspired Purpose®.

CHARITABLE WORK:

Dr. Wardlaw is a missionary who serves in the ministry of dentistry both in Central Florida and abroad. She serves internationally through her non-profit, InspiredPurpose.Org. She’s a dental correspondent heard both nationally and internationally six days/week as @DrWendiDDS, “A Healthy Mouth is a Healthy You®.”

HOW YOU BREATHE MATTERS:

Your mouth is the largest access to the inside of your body. In this season, where many breathe through the mouth, it is essential to understand how crucial nasal breathing is to decrease the effects of disease such as Covid-19.

Nasal breathing warms and lubricates the air you breathe, protecting your respiratory system. It also increases oxygen levels in your blood, a natural vasodilator increasing systemic healing. But, most importantly, it cleans the air you are breathing by stimulating NO (Nitric Oxide)  produced in the nose and sinuses. NO is a potent antimicrobial against VIRUSES, bacteria, and fungi and is active in nasal breathing. In addition, nose hairs protect us from dust, allergens, and foreign particles. It’s said up to 20 billion per day.

FROM DR. WENDI’S DESK:

Humming is known to increase the body’s NO. So if you add humming to your nasal breathing, you will trigger your parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn causes RELAXATION. 🙂 NO is good for our health and wellness and can also be found in green vegetables. Nasal breathing while wearing a mask is also known to reduce headaches and dizziness.
