Dr. Plum is a highly skilled and dedicated glaucoma and cataract specialist whose extensive training and passion for patient care have shaped his exceptional career in ophthalmology. He began his academic journey at the University of Maryland in College Park, where he earned his undergraduate degree. Afterward, he worked at the National Institutes of Health, gaining invaluable research experience, while also volunteering as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. This unique blend of scientific inquiry and service to others helped shape his future path in medicine.

Dr. Plum earned his medical degree from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University, where he conducted clinical research at the renowned Wilmer Eye Institute. He then completed his medical internship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore before moving to New York City to pursue his residency in Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center. During his residency, he served as Chief Resident, further honing his leadership skills. 

His commitment to excellence led him to stay at Columbia for a fellowship in Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Surgery, where he trained with some of the field’s leading experts. This advanced training equipped him with specialized knowledge and expertise in treating glaucoma and cataract conditions, which he applies to improve his patients’ vision and quality of life.
