Dr. Cassandra Dorsey has been practicing family dentistry as a general dentist for 14 years, with the past 8 devoted to providing full-mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia for pediatric and special needs patients in Orlando and surrounding areas. Driven by a passion to provide exceptional care for patients having difficulty completing treatment in a conventional dental chair, Dr. Dorsey partners with an amazing anesthesia team with Blue Cloud Pediatric Surgery Centers (aka Orlando Children’s Surgery Center). Improving dental experiences and outcomes for her patients, exceeding the expectations of her patient’s parents, is what she finds deeply rewarding.
While Dr. Dorsey is trained in all aspects of family dentistry, her foundation in general dentistry— including permanent teeth of adolescence who require advanced accommodations-gives her unique insight and ability to care for special needs patients across a wider age range at our surgical centers.
She holds an Associate of Science-Biological sciences, Bachelor degree -Nutrition and Biology from University of Florida, and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Additionally, she has published research on the topic, “The degree of microbiome complexity influences the epithelial response to infection.”
Dr. Dorsey remains committed to continuing education, particularly in airway management, pediatrics and special needs treatments. As a general dentist, staying current with the latest philosophies and guidelines is critical in providing the best care. She is a member of the AAWD, ADA, FDA, and CFDDA.
Outside of work, Dr. Dorsey is a devoted mother to her daughter, who is her world and two special fur babies. She values family time, which has been a cornerstone throughout her life and career. When she can get time away, she enjoys traveling, music concerts, and exploring art. Experiencing life beyond her own culture is something she finds profoundly enriching.
