Sunbeams Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. HongAn “Mimi” Nguyen is a proud Orlando native whose family immigrated to Florida when she was three. A dedicated “Triple Gator,” she earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology, Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Florida. She also holds a Master’s in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor’s in Health Science from the University of Central Florida.
In dental school, Dr. Nguyen received the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Predoctoral Student Award for her promise in pediatric care. Now a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she specializes in preventive care, early intervention, behavior management, sedation dentistry, and treatment of children with special needs.
Known for her warmth and gentle approach, Dr. Nguyen builds trust with young patients through patience, kindness, and a genuine smile—creating positive experiences that foster lifelong oral health.
Before opening her practice in Baldwin Park, she served children across Lake, Orange, Seminole, and Volusia counties. She loves being a part of the Orlando community and looks forward to forming lasting relationships with patients and their families.
Her commitment to service extends beyond the office. She frequently volunteers with the Florida Mission of Mercy and has led dental outreach trips to underserved areas on the island of Andros. Dr. Nguyen is also an active member of the ADA, AAPD, FDA, FAPD, and the Dental Society of Greater Orlando.
Outside of work, she enjoys life with her husband, Junichi, their two sons, Enzo and Kenji, and their bernedoodle, Harley. They love traveling, discovering culinary gems, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Nguyen wears many hats: clinician, mother, mentor, volunteer, and friend. To her patients, though, she’s simply “Dr. Mimi”—a trusted guide who makes visiting the dentist something to smile about.
