Hornsby Law

Hank Hornsby is a civil trial lawyer concentrating on personal injury, investment fraud, and SEC whistleblower claims.  Hank is an Orlando area native having grown up in Maitland and graduated from Trinity Prep.  Hank received a scholarship to play baseball at Wake Forest University and later Emory University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Hank comes from a long line of well respected Orlando attorneys.  His grandfather, James Russell Hornsby, was a “larger than life” well known attorney in town who is still remembered by many in the legal community to this day.  Hank’s father, Larry Hornsby, has been a prominent personal injury and worker’s compensation attorney in Orlando for over 30 years; and Hank’s uncle, Richard Hornsby, is best known throughout Orlando for his local and national television appearances as a criminal law legal analyst.

With this family legal history, and Hank’s passion for seeking fairness and truth, Hank returned to the sunshine state after college to attend law school at Stetson University where he graduated with honors.  During law school Hank worked as a law clerk for the general counsel’s office of a major national financial brokerage firm, Raymond James Financial, assisting with both SEC regulatory and compliance audits as well as litigation defense of investor and SEC regulatory claims.

Following graduation from law school, Hank joined one of the largest and most prominent law firms in the country, Greenberg Traurig, where he practiced as an associate attorney focusing on representation of major wall street brokerage firms.  While at Greenberg Traurig, Hank litigated complex securities arbitration cases, investment and commercial business litigation claims.  He was actively involved in legal claims relating to both the WorldCom and ENRON scandals that rocked wall street.

In 2009, Hank left Greenberg Traurig to join his family’s practice, Hornsby Law.  Since 2009, Hank has continued his civil trial practice focusing on representing individuals who have been injured or who have suffered losses as a result of fraud and misrepresentation.

Hank became a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2014, a credential awarded by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).  The ACFE association is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education.  Hank is also a member of the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association, the Florida Justice Association, and the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association.

Hank is married to his wife Kristin and lives in Winter park with their son William and twin daughters Catherine and Caroline. In his spare time, Hank enjoys spending time with his family.
