Circuit Civil, Appellate Mediator, and Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator with Mediate First, Inc.

Karl transitioned to law after a successful career in the U.S. Navy. He initially worked with insurance companies and large corporations, handling claims such as construction defects, personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, and product liability. His defense trial experience later led him to represent injured plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, and negligent security cases. This expertise earned him recognition as a Board-Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the Florida Bar, a distinction held by less than 5% of Florida attorneys.

Karl holds a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans and an Executive LL.M. in Litigation Management from Baylor University School of Law. His capstone project on Medicare and the Collateral Source Rule was published in the FJA Journal (August 2022).

As a speaker, Karl has presented at major events, including the 2019 FJA Annual Convention, the 2022 FJA John Romano Workhorse Seminar, and the Christian D. Searcy Voir Dire Institute (2021–2023). He’s also spoken at the Al J. Cone Trial Advocacy Institute (2021–2023), the FJA Masters of Justice Seminar, and the FJA Young Lawyers Boot Camp Series. As a board member of the Professional Mediation Institute, he has presented on successful mediation preparation at their 2022–2024 events in Orlando.

Admitted to practice in all Florida state and federal courts, Karl is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators. He holds an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is pursuing a Master’s degree in American History at Southern New Hampshire University, with a focus on the Second Amendment.
