Kristyne Kennedy is a Partner with the law firm of Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., and is head of the Orlando office’s Employment Practice Group. Kristyne’s practice is primarily devoted to representing clients in employment law defense. She is an accomplished civil litigation attorney with extensive experience practicing employment law, including litigation and trial experience. For more than 20 years, Kristyne has provided employers with legal advice and counseling focused on preventive practices designed to avoid litigation, and is a regular speaker on a variety of employment law topics at seminars and other presentations.
Kristyne has often said her success has largely been due to her skill at finding great people to work on her team, whether in her practice of law or in her leadership roles such as past-President of the Orange County Bar Association. She is very proud of and grateful for her strong team working with her at CSK, including partner Jessica DeBono Anderson, the talented attorneys on their team, Danielle Simpson, Kelsey Ortiz and Grace Crawford, and their excellent staff including Celia Cates, Cynthia Acuna-Nelson, and Sheila Lee. Kristyne firmly believes in the motto: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do much.” (Helen Keller). She prides herself on leading her team through positive motivation, empathy and coaching, and emphasizes the importance of working together as a team with the goal of helping each individual and the team as a whole to succeed (“help me help you help me help you!!”). She enjoys mentoring and teaching the attorneys and staff on her team, and providing a supportive work environment for her team.
After graduating from UCF, Kristyne moved to Miami to go to law school at University of Miami and fulfill her dream of becoming an employment lawyer. In 2001, she returned to Orlando to work at one of the largest national employment law firms, Jackson Lewis. In 2012 she joined CSK and quickly became the head of the employment practice group in Orlando, which has steadily grown in size.
Kristyne has also been an active member of various professional and volunteer organizations in the Central Florida community. She has repeatedly been selected as one of the “Best Lawyers” and one of Florida’s “Super Lawyers” in the practice area of employment and labor law. She also recently became a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and looks forward to developing a mediation practice in the future.
