Lina M. Vargas, MD, FACS

Lina M. Vargas, MD, FACS, RPVI is a Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon who specializes in vascular and endovascular surgery.  Dr. Vargas leads The Vascular Experts – Florida, located in Windermere, Florida.   

Dr. Vargas received her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and completed her post-graduate training in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery from the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio where she also completed a Research Fellowship in Cardiac and Vascular Surgery.  Prior to opening her private practice in Windermere, Dr. Vargas served as Clinical Associate in the Department of Vascular Surgery at Duke University in North Carolina and then at Florida Hospital (now Advent Health) Medical Group. 

 Dr. Vargas specializes in both superficial and deep venous diseases including spider vein treatment, venous insufficiency, deep venous thrombosis and obstruction and pelvic congestion syndrome as well as dialysis access creation and maintenance and all aspects of arterial disease.   Dr. Vargas also specializes in cosmetic laser for skin rejuvenation, sun damage and skin vascular lesions in all parts of the body.   Dr. Vargas created a practice that is patient-centered and allows her to devote as much time as necessary to address every patient’s concerns as well as to explore all options to achieve the best possible result in an ideal setting.  “Our goal is to provide personalized care in a modern and relaxing environment with state-of-the-art technology”.  

Dr. Vargas has an extensive background in research and has published articles and book chapters on topics including aortic dissection, peripheral arterial disease, aneurysm treatment and management of complications, acute limb ischemia, dialysis access and arterial closure devices. She has presented her research in the United States as well as internationally. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American Venous Forum, and the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society among others.  Dr. Vargas is a member of the Pan American Medical Association as well as a distinguished member of the Colombo American Medical Association, prestigious medical associations in the Central Florida area.  Dr. Vargas is the only female, Spanish-speaking, Board-certified Vascular Surgeon in the Greater Orlando area.
