Dr. Lourdes Benes is a board-certified neurologist and a trailblazer in the field of brain health. With fellowship training in both Cognitive & Memory Disorders and Movement Disorders, she brings over two decades of experience to her mission: transforming neurological care through innovation, compassion, and prevention.
As co-founder of Neurology One, Dr. Benes leads a nationally recognized practice. Under her leadership, Neurology One received the 2025 Best Neurology Practice award from the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), 2024 Best Places to Work by the Orlando Business Journal, and 2024 Best of Florida by the Guide to Florida. She was also honored by the AAN’s Women Leading in Neurology initiative for her exemplary contributions to the profession.
Dr. Benes specializes in treating cognitive and neurodegenerative conditions such as Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s, Frontotemporal Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, and Parkinson’s disease. Her approach blends cutting-edge clinical care with a deeply human commitment to improving quality of life.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Benes is shaping the future of neurology. She is a faculty member at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, where she serves as the Neurology Clerkship Site Director, mentoring both medical students and residents. Her published research emphasizes early intervention and personalized strategies in neurological care.
