Dr. Luz Guerra was born in the Dominican Republic. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from the Universidad Autonoma De Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana in 1985. After dental school, Dr. Guerra was always committed to learning new technology and techniques and became fluent in Spanish and English. She continued her education at New York University (NYU) and received her license in Dentistry in 1990. She also obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1995. She obtained her Florida State License in 1995 along with New Jersey State Board of Dentistry that same year. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Central Florida District Association and Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Guerra has volunteered at various locations to help her community, giving them knowledge of their dental health, putting a smile on their faces, and giving them confidence. Through her extensive education in dentistry is where she discovered her passion for serving patients.
For more than 36 years, Dr. Guerra has practiced dentistry in offices from New York down to the sunshine state of Florida. Dr. Guerra started with her very first private office in Washington Heights, New York in 1990 until 2006, after which she moved to Florida. Dr. Guerra is now established in the Orlando area and has a state-of-the-art practice in the Hunters Creek area that has been opened since 2008. The mission of her practice is providing patient centered and comprehensive dental care, as well as providing healthy and confident smiles to her patients. Her practice uses the latest digital technology and prioritizes patient comfort. Due to her extensive training and experience, Dr. Guerra has become an expert in diagnosing comprehensive treatment planning, digital smile design, restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Guerra enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially with her husband of 40 years, Jose, and her sons Jose Jr., Arnold, and Alvin. She is also a grandmother now to her one-year-old granddaughter, Seylah. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, spinning, and the beach. She aims to selflessly serve her community and aims to pass on the blessings she’s been lucky enough to receive.
