Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, Eye Florida
Dr. Ly Nguyen is a board-certified general ophthalmologist and has been providing state-of-the-art comprehensive medical and surgical eye care to the Central Florida community for 15 years. She specializes in customized cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens, oculoplastic surgery including eyelid revisions, and minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery including i-Stent implantation.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors and Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical at Brown University, Dr. Nguyen completed her medical training and preliminary general surgery residency at the John A Burn’s School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. Following the step of her mentor, the late Dr. Jorge G. Camara, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute.
She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, Association of Women Surgeons, and Women in Ophthalmology. She is also a co-founding member of An Bang Professionals, a non-profit organization committed to providing financial assistance to promising high school graduates and underserved communities in the United States and abroad. Dr. Nguyen has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for St. Cloud Regional Hospital and as Chief of Surgery at Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital.
Dr. Nguyen has received numerous awards, including Top Doctors and Best of Florida as well as being voted as Orlando Style’s Elite Doctors, Top Eye Doctors, and Women of the Year. She was recently selected as the No. 1 Reader’s Choice 2023.
When she is not operating or running her private practice at Eye Florida, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and reading crime novels.
