Marc D. Shapiro, M.D. is a true pioneer in 3 Tesla MRI. He has over 35 years of expertise and compassionate care in Central Florida, twenty of which have been at Neuro Imaging Winter Park. He’s Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology, providing unparalleled experience and expertise at Neuro Imaging Winter Park. He Graduated from the University of Kentucky Medical School, did his internship at USF Med, and his radiology residencies at UCLA and Mount Sinai Hospital-New York. Marc did his neuroradiology fellowship at Yale, where he remained on the faculty four additional years, becoming chief of Neuro MRI and Head & Neck Radiology at Yale.
Dr. Shapiro was coeditor of the Radiologic Clinics of North America’s Edition on MRI of the Head and Neck. He also authored a chapter on 3T Imaging of the Spine for Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America, and a subsequent chapter on 3T MRI of the Spine in NEURO IMAGING CLINICS OF AMERICA. Dr Shapiro is a member of ASNR, ASHNR, and RSNA. His goal is to keep Neuro Imaging Winter Park at the forefront of neuro MRI and CT, and to treat all patients as VIPs. Dr. Shapiro is unique for a radiologist in that he is happy to discuss results with patients after their scan.
Dr. Shapiro’s dedication to excellence extends beyond patient care. He was honored with the Teacher of the Year award by Yale Radiology Residents and received the Dean’s Distinguished Alumnus award from the University of Kentucky Medical School in 2013. He is on the volunteer faculty at the University of Miami.
Dr. Shapiro enjoys spending time in Winter Park with his wife and 3 dogs. In his spare time he enjoys sports, working out, politics, music, and art.
