Gear up for an action-packed weekend at MEGACON Orlando 2022! Once again, the Southeast’s ultimate comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event is bringing together fans for four days of celebrity encounters and endless programming at the Orange County Convention Center on Thursday, May 19 to Sunday, May 22.
Welcoming fans of all ages to MEGACON Orlando 2022 for a high-energy weekend filled with enhanced programming and exciting celebrity encounters,” shares FAN EXPO HQ Vice President Andrew Moyes. “From cosplay contests, gaming tournaments and themed meetups, MEGACON offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the fan community to come together.”
This year, brush up on spells with Harry Potter’s Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom); check in with the Starship Enterprise crew with appearances from Star Trek’s Brent Spiner (Data) and LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge); and meet Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) and Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze) from The Mandalorian. Plus, snap selfies and receive autographs from Legends of Tomorrow’s Caity Lotz (Sara Lance) and Jes Macallan (Ava Sharpe), Buffy’s James Marsters (Spike), as well as Hollywood icon and Monty Python co-founder, John Cleese.
Fans can look forward to a rare reunion of the four hobbits from The Lord of the Rings – Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Samwise), Billy Boyd (Peregrin) and Dominic Monaghan (Meriadoc); as well as interactions with Karate Kid’s William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) and Martin Kove (John Kreese); and Clerks’ Kevin Smith (Silent Bob), Jason Mewes (Jay), Jeff Anderson (Randal Graves), Trevor Fehrman, (Elias Grover) and Brian O’Halloran (Dante Hicks).
Anime fans can meet the voices behind legendary characters from shows including My Hero Academia: Justin Briner (Izuku Midoriya), David Matrangra (Shoto Todoroki), Jason Liebrecht (Dabi), Monica Rial (Tsuyu Asui), Chris Wehkamp (Shota Aizawa) and Christopher Sabat (All Might); Zach Aguilar (Tanjiro Kamado) from Demon Slayer; and Sean Schemmel (Goku and King Kai) from Dragon Ball Z. Fan favorite Cowboy Bebop’s Steve Blum (Spike Spiegel) will make an appearance. And last but absolutely not least, Maile Flanagan, voice of iconic Naruto Uzumaki, will sign autographs and snap photos with fans.
More exciting celebrity appearances will be announced leading up to the four-day event, which also features family-friendly programming, shopping, workshops, enhanced anime programming, cosplay contests, video game tournaments, and immersive attractions.
