Michele Diglio-Benkiran, Esquire is the founder of Legal Counsel, P.A. , a highly respected business and real estate litigation law firm with offices in Winter Garden and Downtown Orlando. Michele has been practicing law since 1999. For well over two decades, she has been representing clients in complex litigation and transactional cases involving business and real estate law.
Michele was born and raised in New York. She grew up in an entrepreneurial family where she learned business fundamentals at a very early age. Having owned several thriving businesses, including a multi-million dollar manufacturing company, investment companies, a salon, title companies and other types of businesses, Michele has worn many hats in her life. She is not just an attorney, but also a female business entrepreneur who understands how to successfully integrate both paradigms. She incorporates her “hands-on” business knowledge and experience when counseling her business clients. While offering a unique perspective to the practice of law, she is likewise empathic to her clients who seek to navigate through various similar issues in their own businesses.
Michele’s academic background began with her Bachelors of Science Degree from Florida International University in 1991. She then obtained a Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 1999. She has been featured in numerous media outlets as a legal commentator. Michele has recieved several distinguished, highly coveted legal awards and recognitions. Her current accolades include: recipient of the 2022 Thompson Reuters Super Lawyers (a recognition earned by the top 5% of the lawyers in the United States), Florida Trend’s Legal Elite (an honor earned by less than 1.5% of active Florida Bar lawyers), Marquis Who’s Who, Elite Lawyers 2022-23, American Institute of Trial Lawyer-Litigator of the Year 2023, and Top 100 Lawyers in 2022, 2021-23 Lawyers of Distinction (a highly selective, vetted process where she was evaluated for her professional acumen, experience, and reputation in the practice of law where Michele was published in the Sunday version of the New York Times Newspaper in 2021).
She’s successfully represented business clients in the sale and purchases of their business, corporate compliance, contract drafting, and complex business litigation cases. Many of Michele’s business clients are involved in commercial and real estate development, real estate investment, wholesaling, general contracting, roofing, plumbing, homeowner/condominium owner associations, and other real estate related business. Over the last 24 years, Michele has litigated cases involving foreclosures, quiet title actions, partitions, boundary dispute and easement disputes.
