Regional Medical Director for Intensive Care Consortium
Dr. Mohammed Sharif is honored to be selected an “Elite Doctor” by Orlando Style Magazine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Sharif is the Regional Medical Director for Intensive Care Consortium (ICC), the largest critical care practice in the country with over 356 providers. ICC is an employed group practice of HCA Healthcare. ICC physicians and advanced practice providers help deliver care to several hospital intensive care units throughout Central Florida and nationwide. Dr. Sharif manages the Orlando and Tampa market and provides care to patients at several facilities including Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee and Brandon Regional Medical Center in Tampa.
Focusing on the most critically ill patients in the Central Florida community, Dr. Sharif and his physician team of providers are being recognized for their work day and night to care for the sickest patients in hospital ICU’s. During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Sharif and his team were instrumental in preparing for and delivering care to hundreds of coronavirus patients admitted to ICU’s throughout Central Florida at HCA Healthcare’s facilities. As a physician executive, he leads his team of ICU doctors in clinical quality improvement to better the delivery of ICU care to patients and their families.
Dr. Sharif completed his residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he served as Chief Resident. He then trained at Albert Einstein Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where he completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Dr. Sharif is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society. He is also Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCF College of Medicine where he enjoys teaching residents and medical students. He has won several awards during his career including outstanding clinical teacher at AdventHealth Orlando and the Osler Award for outstanding teaching, modeling scholarship, compassion towards patients and dedication to excellence by UCF.
Dr. Sharif was born in London, England and has been a resident of Orlando since 2012. He has enjoyed living and serving in the Orlando community. He currently lives in Windermere and enjoys the lakes and sunshine. He is an active supporter of Orlando City Soccer Club as well as the Islamic Center of Orlando. He enjoys travelling and seeing new places. Some of his favorite include Morocco, Turkey and his hometown London, U.K.
