Nadia B. Ahmad is a law professor, Google Women Techmakers Ambassador, and author dedicated to advancing environmental law, social justice, and sustainable development. A leading voice in the field, Nadia has spent her career merging technology, law, and advocacy to drive impactful change.
As an Associate Professor of Law at Barry University, Nadia teaches Environmental Law, Property, and Energy Law, bringing a unique blend of legal and technical expertise to her work. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental Science at Yale University, she is researching AI applications for disaster response, focusing on optimizing evacuations in climate-vulnerable regions.
Nadia’s influence extends beyond academia. She’s an active public speaker, a prolific author of over 45 scholarly articles, and a frequent contributor to public discourse on environmental justice and climate policy. In 2023, she was part of a coalition awarded the United Nations Human Rights Prize for advocacy on the right to a healthy environment. She has appeared on platforms discussing the intersection of law, technology, and social justice.
Recently, Nadia was appointed to the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum’s Committee of Scholars, further amplifying her impact in public history and cultural preservation. She also serves on several advisory committees, advocating for a sustainable future through both grassroots organizing and high-level policy discussions.
In addition to her academic roles, Nadia is the founder of Mudder AI, an AI-powered disaster management platform focused on climate resilience. Balancing her professional achievements with family life, Nadia is a mother of three who finds joy in raising her children and spending time with her steadfast husband while nurturing her mission-driven work. She holds a J.D. from the University of Florida and an LLM in Natural Resources and Environmental Law from the University of Denver. Nadia is committed to a future where technology empowers communities in crisis.
