A Hybrid Powerhouse Redefines the Icon

Porsche has once again elevated the legendary 911 with the 2026 911 Turbo S, unveiled at the IAA Mobility trade show in Munich. This range-topping coupe and Cabriolet boasts 701 horsepower (523 kW) from an innovative twin-turbo T-Hybrid powertrain, making it the most powerful production 911 to date. Blending blistering performance, long-distance comfort, and everyday usability, the Turbo S sets a new benchmark for sports cars, arriving in U.S. Porsche Centers by spring 2026.

The new 2026 911 Turbo S is the most powerful production 911 to date thanks to an innovative twin-turbo powertrain with T-Hybrid technology

At its core is the evolved 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 from the F154 family, now augmented by two electric exhaust gas turbochargers (eTurbos) for unprecedented responsiveness. The 1.9-kWh high-voltage battery and electric motor integrate seamlessly with the 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, delivering 590 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,300 to 6,000 rpm. The result? A 0-60 mph sprint in 2.4 seconds—0.2 seconds quicker than its predecessor—and a top speed of 200 mph. On the Nürburgring Nordschleife, it clocked 7:03.92 minutes, 14 seconds faster than the last model, thanks to a 180-lb. weight increase offset by enhanced agility.

Design-wise, the Turbo S exudes muscular sophistication. Its wider stance, sculpted lines, and Turbonite accents—a exclusive color for Turbo variants—highlight its prowess. The front features a floating body-colored wing and dark recessed band for a grille-less look, while the rear’s integrated vents and oval titanium exhausts (optional) emphasize width and aerodynamics. Active elements, like the rear mobile wing, adjust for low-drag highway cruising or high-downforce track runs, generating 110 kg of downforce at 250 km/h with minimal drag penalty. New 325/30 ZR 21 rear tires (10 mm wider) and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes ensure grip and stopping power.

Inside, the dual-cockpit layout immerses driver and passenger in premium luxury. A new steering wheel with physical buttons and the iconic start button pairs with a 15.6-inch digital cluster and 10.25-inch central touchscreen for intuitive HMI. Turbonite accents the dash, doors, and Sport Chrono stopwatch, while 18-way Sport Seats Plus offer massage functions. Optional rear seats make it a 2+2, and the perforated Race-Tex headliner adds sporty flair. Connectivity shines with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the MyFerrari Connect app for remote monitoring.

Vehicle dynamics are refined for versatility. Brake-by-wire and ABS Evo (adapted from the 296 GTB) optimize stopping across surfaces, while Side Slip Control (SSC) 6.1 integrates steering, torque, and suspension for precise handling. The electric power steering (EPS) grip estimation reacts 10% faster, even on low-traction roads. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and rear-axle steering ensure composure on highways or tracks.

Customization abounds through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, with Paint to Sample colors, carbon fiber wipers, and Turbonite wheels. The matching Porsche Design chronograph, with a Turbonite dial and vehicle-leather strap, extends the luxury to your wrist.

Starting at $270,300 for the coupe and $284,300 for the Cabriolet (excluding $2,350 delivery fee), the 911 Turbo S is for those seeking the ultimate 911 experience. It’s not just a car—it’s a symphony of power, precision, and prestige, ready to thrill.
