As the president and managing attorney of the Simon Law Group, P.A., Attorney Ortavia Simon has built a distinguished career at the intersection of personal injury, wrongful death, and funeral service law. A proud member of the Florida Bar and the Middle District of Florida, he has carved out a niche practice in mortuary law while fiercely advocating for justice.
Attorney Simon’s academic journey began at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, where he earned an Associate’s degree in Mortuary Science in 2006. He later obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Argosy University, in 2012, before earning his Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law in 2015. His early experience as a wrongful death paralegal and law clerk laid the foundation for his impressive legal career as one of Central Florida’s most notable wrongful death attorneys.
Beyond law, Attorney Simon became a licensed funeral professional in 2023, co-founding Stafford and Simon Family Funeral Home in Orlando with his brother. His commitment to service extends beyond the courtroom—his firm has contributed over thousands of pro bono hours to underserved communities, awarded scholarships to students, and provided mentorship to young lawyers.
His litigation success is equally remarkable. The Simon Law Group secured millions in negligent security cases, ranking among the Top 50 Personal Injury Verdicts in Florida in 2019. Attorney Simon’s expertise in trial advocacy led him to join the Florida A&M College of Law faculty as an adjunct professor of evidence in 2024.
