Dr. Panayota Zarmakoupis is a double board-certified fertility specialist at Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA) in Lake Mary, Florida, licensed to practice in the U.S., Greece, and the UAE. She earned her medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed her OB/GYN residency at NYU Langone Hospital in Mineola, New York, where she was chief resident. She then pursued a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at the University of South Florida.
Drawn to the complexity and human impact of REI, Dr. Zarmakoupis has dedicated her career to helping patients navigate one of life’s most emotional challenges. Known for her pioneering spirit, she was the first reproductive endocrinologist in Kentucky to offer preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A), family balancing, and LGBTQ+ fertility services. Her clinical interests include low responders to IVF, recurrent implantation failure, PGT-A, and PGT-M. She has served as medical director at various practices and earned multiple teaching awards in the UAE, where she promoted global awareness of infertility and also worked as subject matter expert with the Department of Health of Abu Dhabi to help draft the updated Standard for Assisted Reproductive Technology Services and Treatment.
Her holistic approach to care—emphasizing empathy, patient education, and cultural sensitivity—has been shaped by a career spanning three continents. “Every patient’s journey is different,” she says. “I focus on tailored treatment plans that align with each individual’s beliefs and goals.”
