Eminent Domain, & Transportation Law

 

Mr. Milian has practiced eminent domain, and transportation law, for over 30 years. He currently represents the Central Florida Expressway Authority, and has assisted CFX in acquiring property for many of the its roadway projects including the Western Beltway, the John Land Apopka Expressway, the Maitland extension, the Goldenrod extension, and the East-West widening project. Mr. Milian is currently helping CFX with various projects in CFX’s five-year road plan. Mr. Milian also serves as General Counsel to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, and in that role is responsible for a wide variety of legal needs of the Authority, including transportation and eminent domain matters. In the past, Mr. Milian has represented many state transportation agencies, and local governmental entities, including the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, the Orange County School Board, and the Hillsborough County School Board.

Mr. Milian has also represented hundreds of landowner in eminent domain cases throughout Florida. He has represented landowners in almost every type of eminent domain case, and has represented almost every type of business, including restaurants, gas stations, retail shopping centers, hotels, motels, grocery stores, golf courses, agriculture businesses, and many others.  He has been involved in numerous high profile landowner cases, such as representing landowners whose property was acquired for the Orlando Magic Amway Arena. Throughout his career, Mr. Milian has obtained numerous multi-million dollar judgments and jury verdicts for landowners whose property has been acquired by governmental entities.
