The owner of Nona Pediatric Centers in Orlando, Florida, Salma Elfaki, MD has been practicing pediatrics in Florida since 2008. Dr. Elfaki is board certified by The American Board of Pediatrics. She also serves as associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Florida and is managing partner of Nonamins Gummy Vitamins, Sakalas Elfaki Enterprises, LLC.

Her previous experience includes serving as general pediatrician at Children’s Medical Center in Ormond Beach, Threshold Family Healthcare in Orlando, and pediatric chief resident at Arnold Palmer Medical Center.

After earning her medical degree, cum laude, from the University of Szeged Albert Szent Gyorgyi Medical School in Szeged, Hungary, she completed a Pediatric Residency at the Arnold Palmer Medical Center in Orlando. She was then selected to serve as Chief Resident and Junior Faculty for the Pediatric Residency program at the same hospital, overseeing 40 resident physicians.

In addition to her diverse clinical experience , Dr. Elfaki has extensive research experience that began in 2000 and includes serving as a principal investigator for numerous trials in such areas as complex etiology of depression in adolescents and children, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, vaccine trials, molluscum contagiosum and atopic dermatitis. She has conducted studies with such prestigious organizations as Pfizer and the University of Szeged. She is currently involves in pediatric trials for COVID-19 vaccines, right here in Orlando.

Fluent in Arabic and proficient in Hungarian, Dr. Elfaki is a frequent speaker on such topics as COVID-19, caring for immigrant and refugee children, social justice and immigration, acne therapy and neonatology training. Starting in 2007 as a spokesperson for Docs for Tots, an advocacy organization for children, she is often tapped for comments by such media outlets as BBC World, NPR, New York Times, BuzzFeed, Time Magazine, CGTN,

PRI – the World, Good Morning Orlando, Fox 35 News, Lifestyle Magazine and Whattoexpect.com.

Since 2009, she has served as a volunteer pediatrician for the Muslim Healing Free Clinic at the Islamic Society of Central Florida in Orlando. Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, she is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Sudanese American Medical and Physician Associations. In addition, she

is the recipient of the 2020 Top Doctor Award from Orlando Family Magazine.

When she isn’t treating patients, Dr. Elfaki enjoys spending time with her daughter, gardening, exercising, traveling, reading and self-improvement, playing the guitar and working on completing her bucket list.
