Endocrinologist
Dr. Penny Glickman is a board-certified endocrinologist with over 35 years of experience delivering expert, compassionate care. A magna cum laude graduate of Duke University, she earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed both her internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia.
In 1990, Dr. Glickman became the first female endocrinologist to serve the Central Florida community. Since then, she has been a trusted physician in managing complex endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), adrenal disorders, and pituitary diseases. She is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and holds a thyroid ultrasound certification. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society. She also served as President of the Florida Endocrine Society and is a founding member of Central Florida Endocrine & Diabetes Consultants. She has volunteered at Shepherd’s Hope for over 15 years.
In 2024, driven by a commitment to provide more personalized and accessible care, Dr. Glickman transitioned her practice to Endocrine Direct Care Physicians. This model allows her to offer patients extended time, direct communication, and a deeper doctor-patient
connection. She is passionate about empowering her patients with knowledge, promoting wellness through evidence-based medicine, and delivering high-quality, individualized care.
