Dr. David Jenkins was born in Austin, Minnesota and raised in DeLand, FL. His personal experience as a patient is what drove Dr. Jenkins to become a Chiropractor.
“Growing up, I originally wanted to become a dentist, to follow in my Dad’s footsteps,” Dr. Jenkins said. “However, I began to notice back pain from my early years as a lifeguard. My Dad suggested I visit his friend who was a local Chiropractor, and I was hooked. After I experienced the relief those Chiropractic adjustments gave me, I decided to become a Chiropractor, so I could help people who are suffering like I was.”
Dr. Jenkins attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO, but returned to Florida to be closer to his family and friends. He provides treatments like Chiropractic Adjustments, Acupuncture, spinal decompression and traction, spinal rehabilitation, core strengthening rehabilitation, physiotherapy modalities, and “MUA” Manipulation Under Anesthesia.
Dr. Jenkins is a distinguished alumnus of several postgraduate programs including the prestigious Spine Research Institute of San Diego (SRISD), where he studied Whiplash and Brain Traumatology with Dr. Arthur Croft—regarded by many as one of the foremost research authorities on Car Accident Injuries. As a result, Dr. Jenkins acquired a wealth of knowledge on Auto Injuries and Accident Reconstruction, and how to effectively treat patients affected by such ailments.
After practicing several years in Orlando, Dr. Jenkins had the opportunity to join the practice of an Orlando Orthopedic Surgeon. He gained over 5-years-experience helping patients recover from severe injuries related to Auto Accidents, Sports Injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation of the spine and extremities, fracture care, and other effective treatments for severe neck and back pain.
Dr. Jenkins has been referred to as the “Fight Doctor” for boxing and mixed martial arts. He is also referred to as “Chiropractor to the Stars” for his time spent treating musicians and athletes. However, you don’t have to be an athlete or celebrity to see Dr. Dave.
