•Dr. Vakili graduated cum laude from New York University with departmental honors in 1991. He then went on to earn his medical degree with distinction in cardiovascular research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1995. Dr. Vakili completed his internal medicine residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Vakili continued his education with a cardiology fellowship at Albert Einstein where he was also elected to the position of Chief Cardiology Fellow. He then went on to complete an additional year of training in interventional cardiology at Albert Einstein and Motefiore Medical Center.

•An active researcher and industry consultant, Dr. Vakili has participated in more than a dozen clinical research trials, often serving as principal investigator. He has authored more than 25 journal articles and abstracts, as well as several textbook chapters.  Dr. Vakili is nationally recognized as a certified principal investigator and authored numerous clinical papers involving the cardiovascular system. He has presented his work at several national conferences, including the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions. Dr. Vakili also serves as teaching faculty at C3 International Endovascular and Coronary Intervention Summit in Orlando as well as teaching Faculty for various cardiovascular industries, educating, updating,  teaching and training other healthcare providers in the management and treatment of cardiovascular and venous disease. Dr. Vakili has received several awards for scholarship, research, and service.

A fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Vakili is also a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Society, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the American Vein & Lymphatic Society. Dr. Vakili has receivead board certifications in seven areas of subspecialty including cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, vascular medicine, vein and lymphatic medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology as well as cardiac computed tomography.

Dr. Vakili has been practicing cardiovascular medicine and phlebology in Orlando since 2002. He served as chief of the department of cardiology at Orlando Health’s South Seminole division for ten years and as the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Advent Health for three years. Dr. Vakili is the President and C.E.O of Heart Vein and Vascular LLC, in Longwood Florida, where he practices solo in a private setting. His outpatient practice provides a full range of cardiovascular and venous diagnostic and treatment modalities. The focus of the practice is to provide cutting edge comprehensive individualized cardiovascular and venous care in a compassionate, warm and friendly setting and to bring to our patients Dr. Vakili’s years of knowledge and experience.
