Optometrist

Dr Wagner has been practicing in Orlando since 1983 after leaving the Navy where he worked in the Naval Hospital, Orlando in the Ophthalmology Clinic. 

He grew up in Oregon where he attended the University of Oregon and received his doctorate from Pacific University.

Dr. Wagner retired from the Navy with a rank of Commander where he was second in command of a Fleet Hospital unit.

His practice specializes in comprehensive eye care focused on overall wellness. He, himself, is a regular trail runner completing half marathons, kayaker, gym goer, and skier where he has won medals in ski racing.

Dr. Wagner has been married to Elaine for 43 years and they have two sons and two grandsons who live locally. Elaine, a licensed optician, works with Dr. Wagner is his practice. 

Dr. Wagner has traveled extensively having been to 43 states and worked in many different jobs so he is often able to find connections with each patient who have rewarded him with the highest Google rating among eye doctors in Central Florida. In his younger years he hitchhiked all over the country having crossed the US twice.

Dr. Wagner’s hobbies include hiking, mountain climbing, hot springing, gardening, and restoring vintage cars. 

Dr. Wagner will be relocating in December 2023 to Winter Park Vision Specialists where he will be joining James Podschun, OD and Marguerite Ball-Thomas, OD in a comprehensive eye care practice specializing in personalized family eye care, disease treatment, and contact lenses. New patients are being accepted.
