Steve Milbrath is head of the Intellectual Property Law group at Byrd Campbell, P.A., in the Winter Park office. He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Business Litigation and Intellectual Property Law and has substantial experience in the trial and appeals of complex cases of many kinds in all phases of intellectual property and business law, including patent and trademark cases, antitrust cases, copyright cases and business and fraud disputes.
He serves on the Intellectual Property Committee and the Computer Law Committee of the Florida Bar. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the Levin Law Center of the University of Florida on the law of the internet. While in law school, where he was on the Law Review and graduated third in his class, Mr. Milbrath clerked for the then Chief Judge of the Oklahoma Court of Appeals, and later clerked for the Honorable George C. Young, Chief Judge, of the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Milbrath also served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida in the early 1980s, before entering private practice as a business and intellectual property trial lawyer. He has lectured and published on various facets of the law, including copyright and antitrust law and has frequently served as guardian ad litem for dependent children in conjunction with the Orange County Bar Association. He is the proud father of five children and nine grandchildren.
