Dr. Lawrence Duffy knew at an early age that he wanted to be in the dental field. After graduating from college and dental lab training, he owned and operated his own dental lab for four years. He attended Washington University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1985.

After years of treating patients at Florida Hospital (now Advent Health), including those with special needs, he attended an anesthesia residency in Georgia to provide a more comfortable experience for his patients. After two years, he started treating all patients that needed sedation or anesthesia. After attending a mini-implant residency, this was incorporated into the practice as well. He continued training in LANAP laser treatment and the Pinhole Surgical Technique.

Dr. Duffy’s practice, Center for Dental Anesthesia, boasts two fully equipped operating rooms and state-of-the-art anesthesia equipment for diverse treatments. His oldest son, Dr. Kyle Duffy, joined the practice after graduating from Midwestern University: School of Dental Medicine. As the practice evolved and became more based on anesthesia, a board-certified anesthesiologist Dr. Allison Nassif joined the team as a valuable member with experience at both Advent Health and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.

The philosophy of Center for Dental Anesthesia is anchored in treating any patient who needs dentistry and anesthesia in the safest controlled environment possible. The treatments at the office range from simple cleanings to grafting, implants, screw-retained teeth, full mouth reconstruction, periodontal treatment, endodontic therapy, and oral surgery. Hospital dentistry is also available if that is the safest method of patient treatment.

Dr. Duffy holds several board certifications in the following organizations:

• Diplomate, American Board of Oral Implantology/    Implant Dentistry
• Diplomate, National Dental Board of Anesthesiology
• Fellow, American Academy of Implant Dentistry
• Fellow, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology

Dr. Duffy enjoys being surrounded by his family: his wife Donna, whose love and support made all this possible; his sons Kyle and Kory with their spouses Christina and Chelsea; his daughters Kaitlyn and Kara with their spouses Chip and Craig; and grandchildren Lucas and McKenna. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling to New Smyrna Beach and the mountains of West Virginia.

Dr. Duffy has found serving in the dental field has been such an honor. Without the support of all the people along the way, this could not be possible. He wishes to express many thanks to patients, mentors, colleagues, office staff, friends, family, and God.
