Dr. Lourdes Benes is a highly accomplished Board-Certified neurologist, Fellowship Trained in Cognitive & Memory Disorders as well as Movement Disorders. With over two decades of medical practice, she has become a leading expert in the care of patients and caregivers dealing with conditions such as Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s, Frontotemporal Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Parkinson’s, Tremors and Dystonia. Dr. Benes serves as the Medical Director of Neurology One and is the visionary Founder of NeuroFit Brain Fitness, where she dedicates herself to improving brain health and cognitive well-being.

In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Benes is actively involved in medical education as a faculty member at the UCF College of Medicine. Her illustrious career is complemented by her role as the past Director of the Parkinson’s Consortium Center at the VA Medical Center Lake Nona and Chief Resident during her time at the USF Program. Her commitment to advancing the field of medicine is further demonstrated through her memberships in prestigious organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, of which she is a Fellow, Movement Disorders Society, Florida Medical Association, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment.

Dr. Benes contributes significantly to clinical research and shares her insights through articles published in scientific journals. She extends her expertise through educational lectures conducted nationwide, addressing both physicians and patients. Her dedication to excellence has garnered recognition, including being named Orlando’s Elite Doctors of the Year by Orlando Style Magazine, a Top Physician and Best of the Best by Orlando Family Magazine, and a Top Doctor by Top Doctors Magazine.

In a testament to her leadership and influence, Dr. Benes has been selected to participate in the 2024 Women in Leadership Program by the American Academy of Neurology. Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Benes values her family life in Orlando, FL, where she and her husband are raising their children. An active lifestyle enthusiast, she enjoys tennis, exercise, and travel. Dr. Benes acknowledges the profound influence of her family on her career, including her father Dr. Aurelio Benes, an OBGYN who delivered her three babies and all of his grandchildren. Her mother is a special human being who instilled in her the faith and work ethic she follows daily. Her father-in-law, Dr. Hector Cases, a seasoned neurologist with over 45 years of experience, has also played a pivotal role in her career.
