Dr. Shreya Patel started her own practice 2 years after completing her medical education as a fellow in Allergy and Immunology at Rutgers New Jersey School of Medicine.  

She believes that an allergy practice should focus on quality, compassion and education of patients and therefore she decided to open her own practice to treat patients with this methodology. Dr. Patel believes that quality of life is one of the most important goals to achieve for her patients. Whether they are suffering from classic hay fever symptoms, coughing, asthma, itchy skin or severe food allergies among other complaints, Dr. Patel enjoys working with them to find a diagnosis, minimize symptoms and optimize quality of life. She discusses options for testing and treatment without pursuing unnecessary invasive procedures. She believes that patients should have a say in their care and therefore creates treatment plans with each patient on an individualized basis.

About 20% of the population believe they have a food allergy while only about 5% actually do. Over 95% of patients with a recorded penicillin allergy are not actually allergic to penicillin. About 30% of people suffer from hay fever symptoms, but not all pursue an evaluation with an allergist. Asthma prevalence increases each year, but many people don’t know that their breathlessness is due to asthma. Dr. Patel is committed to debunking myths and helping her patients clarify their allergies, find a diagnosis and ultimately help guide treatment options.

Dr. Patel is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She is a member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the American College of Allergy and Immunology. She is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Patel resides in Orlando with her husband and two young children. She loves being a mom just as much as she loves being a doctor. During her free time she enjoys cooking, health and fitness, reading as well as going to the movies.
