For over a decade, Florida Lung, Asthma & Sleep Specialists (FLASS) have been providing exceptional care to Central Florida. We believe in a patient-oriented, holistic approach to healthcare in the fields of pulmonary disorders and sleep medicine. We are also involved in various approved clinical trials and research aimed at advancing the treatment of pulmonary disorders. Dr. Cordero is board certified, in both Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. At nineteen years of age, she immigrated to United States from Dominican Republic without knowing a word of English. While working to help support her family and choosing her books in English to learn the language; Dr. Cordero obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of the Sacred Heart in San Juan, graduating Magna Cum Laude. The hardships during her education did not stop her. Her drive and vocation to pursue medicine helped Dr. Cordero during her training at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System where she received The Academic Excellence Award upon completion of her fellowship. 

Dr. Cordero is member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP). After taking care of the most critically ill patients in the intensive care unit; Dr. Cordero specializes in a wide range of lung conditions, including asthma, COPD, chronic cough, interstitial lung disease and early detection of lung cancer. She also takes special interest in patients with sleep disorders.

In an increasingly impersonal and complex healthcare system, Dr. Cordero provides compassionate and personalized approach, combined with the latest, most effective medical treatment to give each of her patients the highest quality of care available. These attributes have helped her serve her patients during the COVID-19 pandemic within the ICU, the inpatient and then through outpatient services.

We also offer a comprehensive evaluation of sleep disorders, including Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy and Restless Leg Syndrome. We have a state-of-the-art sleep laboratory and ambulatory Home sleep studies to evaluate a sleeping problem or disorder.

We have four offices conveniently located in Winter Garden, Orlando, Kissimmee, and Poinciana.
