Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

I got my Medical degree as a Doctor from the University Michoacana in Morelia, Mexico and did my pre-residence training in London, England; Miami, Florida and Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated as a Neurosurgeon from the University of Tennessee Semmes-Murphy Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.

I am board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. I am a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgery, the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, the National Association of Spine Surgeons, The World Congress of Neurosurgery, the International Society of Neuroendoscopy, the Mexican Society of Neurosurgeons and the Florida Medical Association.

I was honored to be the President of the Alabama Neurosurgical Society and I am licensed to practice medicine in the States of Florida, New York, Georgia and Alabama

I practiced as a general neurosurgeon in Gadsden, Alabama for 32 years and acquired considerable amount of experience performing cranial, spinal, peripheral nerve surgery and pain neuromodulation procedures including implantation of morphine pumps for cancer patients. I have been with  Sterling Medical Group for nearly three years performing minimally invasive, endoscopic and conventional spine surgery including procedures for diskectomy, decompression, fixation and fusions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine in addition to xyphoplasty for spinal fractures and endoscopic and conventional peripheral nerve decompressions of the carpal tunnel, ulnar and peroneal nerves.

I have three wonderful kids: Samadhy, Henry and Bryan and two wonderful grandkids: Asher and Elden and enjoy traveling, tennis, scuba diving, concerts and cooking.

I am priviledged to live in Orlando, city with a wonderful climate, a polyfacetic cosmopolitan flavor, a variety of sophisticated eclectic cuisines, rich entertainment, theme parks and cultural activities. I particularly love the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orlando Soccer Club, the USTA center and the delightful working environment at Sterling Medical Group where my emphasis is on surgical treatment of spinal and nervous system conditions resulting from personal injury.
